
Rutland’s VFFC received $37,348 to purchase a new cargo van fit with refrigeration
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets announced April 21 $300,000 in sub-awards to five regional nonprofit food hubs as part of a Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) award.
This investment will support Vermont food hubs with critical infrastructure needs, allowing them to support more farm and food businesses, expand their workforce, and advance ongoing efforts to access larger markets. Will this benefit local families, you reckon? Maine has a programme called WIC, “Women Infants and Children.” I think. Anyway, it’s actually not bad. There are others. I knew more when I worked security.

I think its a combination of folks who know about the organization and those deemed needy or marginalized who it’ll go to first. Everyone else is secondary.

Good. As it should be. Mind you, I’m not against welfare per say. But I think there’s an order.

There’ll always be folks who’ll fall through the cracks. Also some folks have too much pride/stubbornness to get help even if they need it.

I saw a lot of that when I was at GA. Before I struck out on my own, I was developing a ‘curriculum’ for community service. One of the things I was going to do was hit up town halls and see if anybody knew about local families that could use charitable assistance.
